Data Center Logistics Technician, DCC Communities
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Site Logistics Technician reviews Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure proper stock levels are maintained across all locations to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle, tracking inventory locations, movements, age, and turns. They collaborate closely with Data Center Operations Technicians, Data Center Engineers, Procurement, and Hardware Engineering to fulfill parts quickly, purchase new parts, and process RMAs with vendors.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily loading dock audits, receiving and stowing part deliveries, and parts ingestion into a system of record
- Monitor and prioritize work using ticket requests, stage and perform parts transfers, and maintain RMA-eligible material
- Provide consistent customer service and communication on an as-needed basis
- Drive Safety and Security culture by remaining compliant with all policies and following best practices
- Data entry on a computer and resolving questions from peer organizations
- Ensure all billing associated with the Inventory supply chain is accurate, validated, and ready for processing
- Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials
- Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations
- Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
- Understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and operate powered equipment (e.g., forklift or cherry picker)
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of logistics or other relevant experience
- 1+ year of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Software / Inventory Management Software
- Familiarity with waybills and shipping procedures with transport companies
- Ability to manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Requires standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods of time
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments
- Occasionally exposed to cold or hot weather
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
- Temperatures can vary between 60 and 90 degrees, occasionally exceeding 90 degrees
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 39 pounds and carry them for short distances
- Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
- Regularly walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
- Push or pull heavy objects into position

USA, NV, Sparks - $26.00 - $47.00 USD hourly
