Data Center Logistics Specialist, DCC Communities
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Responsibilities
- Review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to maintain proper stock levels across all locations to support build and repair activities.
- Create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle, tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns.
- Work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements.
- Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and align on business requirements.
- Ensure accurate data entry and resolve questions from peer organizations.
- Validate and process billing associated with the Inventory supply chain, reconciling invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable (AP).
- Perform manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping, and arranging shipments of merchandise and materials.
- Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.
- Unpack boxes and verify contents of incoming shipments.
- Maintain precise records of all commodities moving in and out of the company.
- Adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and operate powered equipment (e.g., forklift or cherry picker).
Work Environment
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level varies and can be loud.
- Temperature ranges between 60 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, occasionally exceeding 90 degrees.
- Overtime may be required as needed by the business.
- Physical demands include:
- Lifting loads of up to 40 pounds and carrying them for short distances.
- Participating in group lifts of 41 pounds or more.
- Pushing or pulling heavy objects into position.
- Working in a noisy environment.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions, and reverse logistics.
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vendor management.
- Experience setting up and building out storage facilities and layouts.
- Ability to create and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Understanding of general business accounting and finance.

Pay
Starting pay for this position in Wilmer, TX ranges from $24.27 to $42.54 USD hourly. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
