About Gesa

The Data Center IT Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the secure, stable, and optimized operations of the Credit Union’s Data Center infrastructure. This position involves managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing the data center, providing technical training, and contributing to the development of data center standards and governance.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Contribute to efforts around managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing data centers
  • Assist in troubleshooting complex data center issues and participates in multi-platform troubleshooting
  • Represent data center in upgrades, updates, and patches
  • Review and implement end user accounts, permissions, and access rights to data center
  • Perform system backups and recovery of data center devices
  • Maintain inventory of all data center assets
  • Maintain documentation as it relates to the system configurations, mapping, processes, services, and infrastructure in our data centers
  • Test and coordinate the testing of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan (DR/BCP) associated with the credit union’s data centers
  • Follow change management procedures and communicate to the appropriate parties when implementing changes
  • Contribute to efforts to design and deploy new solutions and enhancements to the data center infrastructure and software
  • Plan and document standards for approval
  • Interact and collaborate with vendors, partners, and contractors to enhance and secure data center products and services
  • Ensure all data center implementations are consistent with IT Security best practices
  • Train junior members of the infrastructure team in technical skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • AZ-800/801 or AZ104 preferred
  • A+, Network +, Server_, Linux+ certifications preferred
  • VCTA / VCP‑DCV Data Center Virtualization preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Datacenter technologies and best practices
  • Experience with Unix/Linux OS
  • Experience with Datacenter Technology security features and best practices
  • Requires participation in an after-hours on-call rotation
  • Requires ability to respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and provide support and vendor escalations within established SLAs
