Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Installation and termination of structured (fiber optic) cabling, including single mode and multi-mode.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots basic technical problems or issues.
- Reviews, interprets, and works with various maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents.
- Performs daily tests, checks, and maintenance of and testing equipment.
- Performs optical continuity and conformance testing.
- Installation of security cameras and Wireless Access Points.
Facility Maintenance
- Provide shift coverage and on-call operational support for all facilities systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire, life, and safety.
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment rounds, and service requests as directed and in accordance with the company CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Perform emergency or preventative maintenance repairs during off hours as directed on nights and weekends as needed.
- Become proficient with building automation systems to ensure equipment is operating properly.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support vendors on preventive maintenance and repair activities.
- Aid site with emergency situations (fire alarms, power outages, environmental spills).
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Proficient writing & communication skills.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to use Windows based computers.
- Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings.
- BICSI Certification(s) for structured cabling a plus.
- Trade school degree or certificate in mechanical, electrical, or controls disciplines a plus.
- Three years of plant building operating experience, and data center experience preferred.
Physical Work Abilities And Requirements
- Walking frequently, throughout large facilities.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment.
- Using ladders and man lifts, working from heights.
