About the role

The Data Center Facilities Technician will provide building maintenance services to our client's facilities, supporting on-site electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs. The role focuses on non-critical aspects of the buildings and grounds as directed by the Client Project Manager or designated personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general area cleanup to maintain a tidy and organized environment.
  • Conduct touch-up painting as needed.
  • Manage tool inventory and ensure tools are maintained in good working condition.
  • Undertake door repairs and handle the mounting of signage.
  • Execute minor electrical tasks such as replacing light bulbs and addressing minor electrical issues.
  • Handle minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks and addressing drainage issues.
  • Perform basic minor carpentry tasks to repair or improve building structures and fixtures.
  • Address specific or immediate industrial cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Undertake light-duty mechanical tasks to ensure equipment and systems are functioning optimally.
  • Monitor and replace HVAC filters and light bulbs in designated areas.
  • Assist in hanging wall art and shelving.
  • Dismantle and install furniture and cabinets as needed for reorganization or renovations.
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs for special meetings or events.
  • Perform snow removal during the winter season.
  • Assist with landscaping and clean-up tasks to enhance outdoor areas.
  • Handle carpet cleaning or replacement projects as required.
  • Undertake other tasks and special projects designated by the Client Project Manager or designated personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a range of maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Effective communication skills and strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment-related tasks.
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses.
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety of temperatures inside a facility.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in HVAC, Critical Facility Maintenance, and Construction Finishing are a plus. Any relevant certifications or licenses related to building maintenance are also a plus.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $28 - $30 per hour.

Schedule

  • Shift Schedule (1): Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Shift Schedule (2): "4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off" (Front-half and Back-half of the week), 7:00am - 7:00pm
  • Shift Schedule (3): "4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off" (Front-half and Back-half of the week), Nights 7:00pm - 7:00am

Location: McCarran-Sparks, Nevada - approximately 7 miles down USA Parkway.
