Data Center Facilities Engineer
What You'll Do
As the Data Center Facilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our data center infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency, reliability, and security. This role ensures maximum uptime, environmental stability, and physical security of critical hardware, power distribution units (PDUs), and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on hardware expertise with a strong understanding of power/cooling dynamics and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Monitoring: Continuously monitor power grid stability, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, backup generators, and Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC/CRAH) systems to prevent downtime.
Cabling & Organization: Plan and execute structured cabling paths (fiber and copper) utilizing industry-standard cable management practices. Ensure clean, labeled, and documented cable runs.
Capacity Planning: Analyze and forecast space, power, and cooling requirements (thermal dynamics) to support future hardware deployments and scaling.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Respond quickly to environmental alerts that cause outages. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address critical facility emergencies.
Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain highly accurate records of hardware inventory, rack elevations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and utility providers for facility maintenance support.
Security & Compliance: Enforce physical security policies, access controls, and compliance standards within the data center facility.
