About the Role
Support the critical infrastructure that keeps on-site computer rooms running at manufacturing facilities. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of facilities engineering and technology operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage power capacity for on-site computer rooms at manufacturing facilities
- Own UPS strategy, sizing, runtime targets, and maintenance planning
- Create and maintain rack elevations and as-built room layouts
- Coordinate with plant electrical and facilities teams on capacity, panels, circuits, and expansions
- Support modernization projects by identifying and removing physical constraints like limited power or rack space
- Serve as the facilities point of contact for power-related incidents and lead root cause analysis
- Write and maintain SOPs and MOPs for power work, UPS maintenance, and room upgrades
- Provide QA and QC oversight for contractor work affecting computer rooms and electrical paths
- Manage vendor relationships for UPS, battery, and monitoring systems
- Coordinate with plant maintenance on generator and transfer switch readiness and testing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in critical facilities, electrical infrastructure, or data center environments
- Hands-on experience with UPS systems, battery technologies, and electrical distribution
- Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain rack elevations and layouts
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent, domestic and international
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing facilities specifically
- Experience with generators and ATS or STS transfer switch units
- Familiarity with data center tiering concepts and reliability-focused design
- Experience with DCIM platforms such as Struxureware
