Data Center Engineer

Proven Recruiting has partnered with a leading entertainment company, reaching approximately 150 million customers across the US, to find Staff Data Center Engineers to join their Data Center Engineering and Operations team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 100% hands-on support for data center infrastructure provisioning and server/network equipment deployments
• Rack, cable, and provision servers, switches, PDUs, and consoles, and perform initial system configuration per standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, document findings, and provide detailed root cause analysis reports
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory and support decommissioning, RMA processing, and data center best practices

Requirements

• BA/BS in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 4 years of data center experience, including at least 2 years hands-on in an enterprise-scale environment
• Strong understanding of x86 server hardware architecture, BIOS/BMC configuration, and cabling standards (MMF, SMF, LC/MTP, CAT6)
• Basic professional knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, and version control (Git, Bitbucket)
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 lbs during periodic project work (carts, dollies, and a server lift are available)
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation and travel occasionally to other data center locations
• IT certifications (A+, Server+, RHCSA, CCNA, or similar) a plus

Pay

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is $45.00 to $37.00 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
