Data Center Engineer

About the role

As a Data Center Engineer, you'll work closely with server and network engineers from Epic's internal IT team, helping to ensure all IT equipment in our data centers runs efficiently and effectively. You'll be responsible for taking into account various data center variables when performing installs, including physical space, power consumption, network connectivity, cooling, monitoring, and existing infrastructure topology.

Responsibilities

• Leverage technologies like Terraform and Ansible to deploy infrastructure as code.
• Work closely with server and network engineers from Epic's internal IT team to ensure all IT equipment in our data centers runs efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

• Extreme attention to detail and high level of organization.
• Ability to work and make decisions independently.
• Strong documentation, project management, and communication skills.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Previous information technology experience.
• Prior data center, server, or network engineer experience – especially with Cisco IOS or NX-OS platforms – is preferred.

• Expertise in data center operations and infrastructure management.
• Experience with server and network engineering.
• Knowledge of cloud deployment tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
