Data Center Coordinator
General Summary of the Position
The Data Center Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate underground utility data, coordinating field crew assignments, and supporting quality control operations for data center construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- GIS & As-Built Data Management
- Maintain GIS database of all underground utilities as-built by Precision Surveying and update weekly
- Download and organize all clients provided install drawings and correlated staking points
- Check for discrepancies in staking points vs. install drawings/civil drawings/model
- Receive and process as-built data by others and integrate that information into Precision Surveying & Consulting’s as-built process for quality control/layout process
- Provide necessary staking data/drawings to Precision Surveying Field Crews
- Download and organize as-built data
- Check for updates in plans and update staking data/drawings accordingly
- Process as-built data, assign layers, upload/send data to necessary contacts/shared drives
- Send daily/weekly as-built updates containing all new information since the last as-built update
- Send/upload all as-built information/data captured on a daily or weekly basis
- Overlay/markup as-built information on Client’s internal install drawings and capture pertinent information regarding redlines or any other deviations from design captured in the as-builts
- Maintain internal subcontractors as-built/redline documentation forms for tracking purposes
- Field Crew Coordination
- Cordination with site contacts on an as-needed basis to perform quality control checks, identify issues, and provide solutions or documentation needed to pursue solutions
- Cordinate and dispatch field crews to complete the following assignments of:
- Staking requests
- As-built Installed Utilities
- Complete GPR scanning of precast wall panels on an as-needed basis
- Cordinate field crews to set/maintain site control in and around the building
- Cordinate staking request for temporary/permanent site logistics elements (e.g., parking, signage, fencing, roads)
- Ensure optimal distribution of field work and proper field methods for accuracy and organization
- Provide technical support/troubleshooting for Precision Survey field crews
- Quality Control
- Perform and coordinate Quality Control Checks for:
- Electrical equipment and mechanical equipment
- Poured concrete and finished grade elevations
- Utility structures, anchor bolts, drilled piers and site monuments
- As-built and staking data accuracy
- Work with site contacts to identify issues, provide solutions and document corrective actions
- Participate in subcontractor and redline sync meetings to ensure alignments on field progress and redlines
- Perform QC Checks on Precision Surveying Field Crews to ensure accuracy
- Cordinate with clients and subcontractors on RFI solutions and support
- Collaborate with internal teams and site contacts for quality control, issue resolution and scheduling
- Maintain clear and timely communication with project management/clients regarding project status and updates
- Communication & Collaboration
- Represent the company professionally, fostering a collaborative atmosphere among coworkers, clients, and other trades
- Demonstrate self-starter qualities and initiative in improving company operations
- Safety and Compliance
- Comply with site safety requirements – OSHA and understand excavation standards
- Complete pre-job truck inspections, safety documentation, and ensure timely submission
- Maintain trucks and equipment to company standards
- 5+ years of experience in land surveying or related field
- Prior experience in a supervisory or coordination role
- Valid appropriate state driver’s license (general operator license)
- 3 years of CAD experience within use of GIS, AutoCad, BlueBeam, etc

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with surveying work. Strenuous walking and lifting catch basin grates/manhole cover, hauling equipment. Capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. Physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing excavations, trenches, structures and other disturbed areas
