Data Center Capacity Manager
About the role
Meta is seeking a forward‑thinking people manager to lead rack capacity planning and delivery within the Edge and Network Services (ENS) Foundation organization. The manager will guide engineers to improve efficiency, reliability, and risk management through process, systems, and data across some of the world’s largest data centers. This role blends strategic and hands‑on technical leadership, shaping the operations of Meta’s next‑generation compute infrastructure, influencing design and deployment of global environments, and driving long‑term process and tooling direction while staying close to the ground to unblock restoration issues and optimize workflows.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the capacity function across multiple sites in a geographical area.
- Distribute capacity workload based on projections, OKRs, and KPIs across skill‑sets, people resources, and company priorities.
- Work with FieldOps leaders and engineers to ensure on‑time delivery of rack SLAs and meet throughput objectives.
- Manage stakeholder communications and represent the team in cross‑functional leadership meetings.
- Ensure standard Methods of Procedure (MOPs), runbooks, and procedures are consistently followed to achieve successful deployment metrics.
- Cascade strategic organizational goals to align team and individual objectives.
- Cultivate a collaborative, high‑performing team and ensure accountability for new employee onboarding.
- Build and sustain a scalable global organization, encouraging collaboration across regions.
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for stable, compliant capacity delivery, monitoring KPIs/SLIs, triaging incidents, and driving root‑cause analysis.
- Maintain proactive engagement around responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations, and development planning.
- Attract top talent, fill gaps quickly, and structure teams to optimize business outcomes.
- Create, maintain, and enforce SOPs, runbooks, provisioning workflows, and acceptance criteria aligned with Meta‑wide best practices.
- Support internal customers (Production Operations, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Logistics, Program Management) and vendors to ensure capacity delivery meets needs across global sites.
- Own planning and execution of the organizational roadmap and strategy to deliver business outcomes.
- Provide root‑cause analysis and corrective action leadership for infrastructure, architecture, and hardware issues.
- Represent the organization and manage interactions with hardware, facilities, logistics, and managed service partners.
- Lead cross‑functional infrastructure projects in a matrix environment covering data center, network, logistics, supply chain, compliance, legal, and software system engineering.
- Communicate across teams, organizations, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Initiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of network infrastructure within data centers.
- Drive improvements in technical references, design processes, and training documentation.
- Support automation and tooling initiatives to increase consistency and efficiency in design, deployment, and operations.
- Travel domestically and internationally (≈20 %) to data centers under management.

- 10+ years of experience in global network or infrastructure operations, deployment, design/engineering, or support.
- 5+ years of experience working in varied infrastructure environments (data centers, colocation facilities, corporate campuses).
- 5+ years of experience partnering with hardware, ITAD, logistics, facility, security, and colocation vendors.
- Experience identifying and managing key metrics (SLAs/KPIs) to evaluate success and business impact of capacity services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl).
- Experience working with on‑site construction teams, managing contractors, and vendor relationships.
