About the role
The Data Architect supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This senior-level position bridges the gap between business requirements and technical execution, designing, deploying, and managing an organization's data architecture to ensure it supports strategic mission goals and vision.
Responsibilities
- Develop an overall short-term (next 2 years) and long-term (5-7 year) organizational data strategy aligned with business or mission processes and strategic mission goals.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to guide data structure and flow.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical functionality and ensure data accessibility.
- Implement and audit security measures to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with governance policies.
- Plan and execute large-scale data solutions.
- Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from platform selection to testing and implementation.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of general (full-time) work experience (may be reduced with completion of advanced education).
- 5 or more years of directly related experience.
- 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership role.
- Proficiency in SQL development, database administration, and both RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) or equivalent.
- Mastery of visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or equivalent to present complex data insights.
- Strong coding skills for automation and data manipulation like Python, Java, C/C++, Perl, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with MBSE and incorporating AI into legacy systems to streamline data output.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Qualifications
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification (desired).
- 1 or more Cloud-Specific Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Data Engineer (desired).
- Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP) Data Engineer certification (desired).
- Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (desired).
Pay
$160,000 – $210,000 per year.

Schedule
- Day shift.
