Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead a large data conversion specific to transforming legacy data models and data sets into the new modern system.
• Analyze and design the data conversion and validation plan and lead the testing of the conversion to ensure data integrity and the time needed to convert the data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of overall experience
• US Citizenship required
• Must possess an active IRS MBI Clearance and have a current GFED
• Demonstrable experience having led/participated in Data Architecture Strategy and Roadmap engagements
• Design and implementation experience in Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, Kafka, NoSQL databases) and familiarity with data architecture patterns (data warehouse, data lake, streaming, Lambda/Kappa architecture)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels
• Prior experience working on Agile teams

Qualifications

• Must have an active IRS Public Trust clearance

Skills

• Data architecture patterns (data warehouse, data lake, streaming, Lambda/Kappa architecture)
• Adequate communication skills
• Experience with Agile teams

Pay

• $68/hr. W2 during the contract.
• $135,000/year conversion for Bachelor's Degree and 10 years’ experience.
• $95/hr. during the contract.
• $187,000/year conversion for Bachelor's Degree and 12 years’ experience.

Schedule

• On-site, Greenbelt, MD

This role supports the IRS EDOS program, which aims to modernize legacy tax processing systems to improve taxpayer experience, increase voluntary compliance, and reduce reliance on outdated technology.
