Data Architect

About the role

Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for the Data Mesh platform on Snowflake—including data modeling, security design, RBAC/RLS, anonymization, and governance alignment.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for 9 source systems and 2 MVP data products
• Define Snowflake account architecture (RAW/CURATED/GOLD layers, warehouse sizing, retention policies)
• Design RBAC hierarchy, Row-Level Security, and column masking policies (SHA-256 hashing for PHI/PII)
• Own naming standards, service user key-pair authentication, network policies, and MFA enforcement
• Review pipeline patterns and enforce Data Mesh interoperability policies
• Support ZB InfoSec reviews and HIPAA compliance sign-offs
• Guide CI/CD promotion path (Dev Test Prod) via Azure DevOps

Requirements

• 12+ years in data architecture, with 3+ years on Snowflake (SnowPro Advanced certification preferred)
• Deep expertise in dimensional & data vault modeling
• Hands-on with Azure Data Factory, dbt, Azure Key Vault, Pulumi IaC
• Data Mesh principles (Domain Ownership, Data as a Product, Federated Governance)
• HIPAA / PHI / PII compliance experience (healthcare/life sciences preferred)
