Data Architect

About the role

The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support the retail company's data warehousing and analytics needs. This role will also involve leading teams in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures using GCP services
• Lead data modeling efforts to ensure data integrity and consistency
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into BigQuery
• Oversee the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge in Google Cloud Platform and related technologies
• Proven experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices
• Experience with data governance and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of data professionals

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 9+ years of relevant work experience in data architecture and management
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery and other GCP data services
• Experience with data warehousing tools and platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
