Data Architect

About the Role

Diversified Systems is searching for a Data Architect responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's data architecture to ensure data integrity, scalability, and accessibility. This role defines how data is stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across systems, aligning with business objectives and technology standards. The architect will leverage modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, to support advanced analytics and scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise data models, schemas, and standards.
• Define data flows and integration patterns between systems, including cloud-native platforms such as Snowflake.
• Oversee logical and physical database design for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with DBAs on optimization, capacity planning, and Snowflake performance management.
• Establish data quality, security, and compliance standards.
• Implement metadata management and maintain a data dictionary.
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data warehousing and analytics, with hands-on experience using Snowflake's ingestion and transformation capabilities.
• Ensure interoperability between on-prem and cloud systems.
• Work with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Provide guidance on data modeling best practices.
• Ensure data architecture meets performance SLAs and security requirements.
• Implement encryption, access controls, and audit mechanisms across both traditional DBMS and Snowflake environments.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (cloud, big data, AI/ML) for adoption.
• Recommend improvements to existing data architecture, including Snowflake optimization and new cloud capabilities.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.
• 5 years of experience in SQL Server/Oracle or similar RDBMS.
• 5 years of experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS).
• 5 years of experience with ETL tools, APIs, and integration frameworks.
• 5 years of expertise with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
