About the role
The Opportunity: As organizations increasingly rely on cloud computing and advanced analytics, the ability to design well-structured, scalable, and well-governed data systems is more important than ever. We are looking for a Junior Data Architect to help shape and support the data foundation that powers analytics, reporting, and operational insights across our organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain logical and physical data models that support analytics and reporting use cases.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to transform and structure data for downstream systems and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support the design and implementation of data pipelines and data integration workflows within AWS environments.
- Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable data structures and architecture patterns.
- Help design and maintain data schemas, metadata standards, and documentation to improve data discoverability and usability.
- Support development and optimization of ETL and ELT workflows that transform raw data into curated analytical datasets.
- Assist in maintaining the reliability, performance, and scalability of data storage and processing systems.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders including product, analytics, and engineering teams to understand and address data needs.
- Support data governance initiatives, including improving data quality, lineage visibility, and consistency across datasets.
- Help enforce data standards and best practices to ensure data integrity, appropriate access, and responsible data usage across the organization.
Requirements
- Experience working with data systems, data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for data transformation and analysis.
- Experience working with relational databases or cloud data platforms such as AWS.
- Knowledge of ETL and ELT processes and modern data pipeline architectures.
- Knowledge of data governance concepts, including data quality, metadata management, and data documentation.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.

- Experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, or Athena.
- Experience supporting data warehouse or lakehouse architectures.
- Experience with data orchestration or transformation tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Experience with data governance tools such as data catalogs, lineage tools, or metadata management platforms.

Pay
$61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
