Data Annotation Specialist - German Writer/Translator

About the role

Cohere is seeking dynamic and dedicated Data Annotators with exceptional Modern Standard German Writing, Translation, and Data Manipulation skills. This is a part-time independent contractor position available within Canada, offering 16 hours per week at a 30 CAD/hour contract rate. The role is remote and requires a reliable laptop.

Responsibilities

• Label and rank machine learning data with advanced proficiency in German, ensuring data integrity and quality.
• Audit and correct any inaccuracies in language data (text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, Markdown).
• Complete reading and text-based assignments with high attention to detail.
• Evaluate and complete tasks, assessing which responses in German best conform to project guidelines.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for improving data quality and model performance in German language tasks.
• Provide feedback to cross-functional team members, particularly on German language-related matters.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in German; excellent command over English.
• Expert reading and writing skills, ready to prove on our written test.
• Basic familiarity with JSON/TSV/CSV/Markdown data manipulation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
• Superb sense of urgency and time management.
• Curiosity about technology and a knack for tackling problems creatively.
