About the role

The Outreach Team’s biggest year is ahead, and Turf Directors will be the backbone of our ground operations. You’ll ensure we reach the right voters in the right areas each day we canvass. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in VAN, PDI, and GSuite, along with a willingness to learn new mapping and database management systems. We’re looking for people familiar with the demographic profile and walkability of the districts we’ll be working in, as well as those who share our deep concern for canvasser health and safety.

Location: Lee's Summit, MO. This position begins ASAP, with potential to run through November.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project and office directors, as well as external stakeholders, to identify target precincts and targeted subsets of voters in those precincts
  • Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff
  • Identify, promote, and train a leadership team
  • Build a diverse team where staff feel respected, while fostering a culture of equity and justice
  • Canvass every week
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure integrity of the work
  • Foster a healthy and safe working environment for all staff
  • Develop strategic plans to reach target voters/constituencies in assigned locations
  • Audit campaign data on nightly, weekly, and monthly basis depending on program needs
  • Prepare and cut turf packets
  • Analyze canvass results data and perform density analysis
  • Monitor data integrity and track turfs and precincts
  • Contribute to GOTV strategy and historical campaign data analysis

Requirements

  • Strong management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team while holding staff accountable to goals and expectations
  • North Carolina geographical and political expertise

Pay

The salary range for this position is $1,154 - $1,412 per week depending on responsibility and experience. Performance bonuses may be awarded at the midpoint and end of the campaign.
