About the role

Ameren Missouri delivers electric and natural gas service to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This co-op position supports the safe, reliable, and affordable delivery of energy through data analytics, reporting, dataset creation, dashboard development, database queries, data integration, and analysis. Co-ops work with stakeholders to help them understand operations and make informed decisions.

Co-ops are assigned a mentor, receive coaching and feedback, and collaborate with an experienced analytics team. The program provides valuable work experience and serves as a pipeline for highly talented candidates for full-time positions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in meaningful work activities related to data analytics, reporting, dataset creation, and dashboard development
  • Write and execute database and data warehouse queries and scripts
  • Perform data integration and analysis to help stakeholders understand operations and make informed decisions
  • Build, maintain, and support dashboards, reporting models, datasets, and analytics applications such as Power BI
  • Organize, integrate, and analyze large quantities of data from multiple sources
  • Address business problems, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
  • Document data requirements and work with business users to clarify project goals
  • Manage time and priorities effectively, including clarifying ambiguous requirements
  • Work collaboratively with team members and departments to achieve results
  • Communicate analysis, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or an equivalent computer-related field from an accredited college or university
  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization, relational databases, and writing SQL queries
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel (reports, spreadsheets, formulas, lookup tables, graphical analysis)
  • Interest in building, maintaining, and supporting analytics applications such as Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills to address business problems and generate insights
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving, proactive learning, and detail-oriented approach

Skills

  • Programming platforms: Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, Databricks
  • Tools: SQL, Python, SAS, relational databases, data warehouses
  • Familiarity with Databricks, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms (preferred)
  • Experience with data analytics software and visualization tools (preferred)
  • Understanding of project management principles (preferred)
  • Knowledge of data science methodologies and processes (preferred)

Pay

$21.00 - $30.00 per hour
