Data Analyst, Sr - Cancer and Blood Disorders Center

About the role

This role supports the hematology and oncology division at Seattle Children’s. The individual will collaborate with clinicians, hospital leadership, and other analysts to deploy meaningful and complex reports that support patients. While most metrics focus on operational reporting, the work may also include quality‑improvement projects and research requests. The position supports the Hospital and Enterprise Analytics vision, mission, and strategic initiatives by using technical expertise to design, create, and develop analytical solutions, and by providing internal consultation and project management. The incumbent leads the gathering of business requirements, applies knowledge of business/clinical processes, analytical expertise, and technical programming skills, and works with key stakeholders, end users, and project team members. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving issues throughout solution development, continuously improving workflow processes, and ensuring data integrity for strategic initiatives, quality‑improvement efforts, and hospital goals. This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinicians, hospital leadership, and analysts to develop and deploy complex operational and quality‑improvement reports.
• Gather and facilitate business requirements, translating clinical and business processes into analytical solutions.
• Design, create, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data views from a wide range of existing data sources.
• Lead project tasks—both formal and informal—and manage timelines using standard project‑management methodologies.
• Evaluate, optimize, and ensure the sustainability and adaptability of analytical solutions.
• Maintain data integrity for current and future use in strategic initiatives, continuous quality‑improvement efforts, and hospital goals.
• Provide internal consultation and project‑management support to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating analytical and technical competency.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a data analyst, developer, or equivalent role.
• Experience with Cerner, Epic, or similar electronic health‑record software.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least three (3) years managing medium‑to‑large projects using standard project‑management tools and methodologies.
• Experience as a data analyst within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with clinical, hospital, and/or financial applications and systems.
• Experience working with clinicians on pathways, order sets, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analyses to compare data and detect trends.
• Proficiency with established data‑analysis models and tools for qualitative and quantitative data.
• Application of fundamental statistical methods to identify correlations and causal relationships.

Pay

Compensation range: $118,174 – $177,262 per year (full‑time, 2,080 hours per year). Salary is determined by factors such as equity, skills, experience, and expertise. This range applies to positions based in Seattle; compensation for out‑of‑state locations may differ.
