Data Analyst /SQL/Oracle Platforms – Student Financial Aid (CS26-195)
About the role
Assist with the demands placed on the Office of Financial Aid related to federal campus-based programs and the coordination of other federal and state financial aid programs.
Provide reporting and data support for the University and the Office of Financial Aid using SQL, Argos, and Power BI, including data analysis, requirements analysis, documentation, and problem solving.
Apply independent judgment to define needs, prioritize activities, and identify resources to support students in securing the financial resources needed to obtain their education at SIUE.
Collaborate with key administrators across campus to facilitate the financial aid process in compliance with federal and state regulations, University financial liability requirements, and program participation guidelines.
Support compliance efforts by transferring Financial Aid materials to and from the U.S. Department of Education.
Aid the Office of Financial Aid by posting information to student accounts to maintain accurate data and by testing newly released software patches.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
- College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- 120 semester hours equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months).
- Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months).
- Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
- Additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.
- Two (2) years of direct Financial Aid experience working in a University Financial Aid office.
- Five (5) years of SQL development experience.
- Knowledge of a computerized Student Information System required.
- Proficiency with PC software such as Word, Excel, Access, and Argos.
