Data Analyst Intern

About the role

We're looking for passionate individuals to join our team as a Data Analyst Intern. This role reports directly to the Business Intelligence Manager and focuses on extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data to support decision-making. You'll contribute to advanced analytics initiatives, including data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities

• Create standard or ad-hoc queries/reports to extract data from disparate databases or sources.
• Analyze data to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies.
• Support advanced analytics initiatives, including data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
• Build models used by the business to support decision-making.
• Provide technical assistance to users for efficient data procurement.
• Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain reports/dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Analyze BI reports and suggest improvements or enhancements.
• Ensure security, accuracy, integrity, availability, performance, and validity of credit union data and reports.
• Assist in research, fact-finding, and improving/converting legacy reports to the credit union’s BI solution.
• Provide training and assistance to users for generating ad-hoc reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma (required).
• Any equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must be a current student actively pursuing a degree or certification for the duration of the internship (required).
• Must meet PSECU’s minimum employment eligibility requirements, including being at least 18 years of age at the time of hire (required).

Skills

• SQL, R, and Python.
• Modern business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
