About The Role
The Research Data Analyst II plays a vital role within the MaineHealth Institute for Research, supporting the Center for Interdisciplinary Population & Health Research (CIPHR). This position is designed for individuals passionate about working in a collaborative research environment, providing analytical expertise to faculty scientists and clinical investigators engaged in a variety of projects, including clinical trials, observational studies, community-engaged research, and program evaluations. The analyst will be responsible for managing complex datasets, performing data cleaning, and conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to derive meaningful insights. This role involves close interaction with research teams to understand project objectives, develop appropriate analytic strategies, interpret results, and effectively communicate findings through written reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or similar); Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a healthcare or research setting
- Proficiency in statistical software, with a preference for R/Posit
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, data management, and statistical techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Experience working with clinical and population health data is desirable
Responsibilities
- Provide qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods analytic support to research teams and investigators
- Manage and clean datasets to ensure accuracy and integrity of data for analysis
- Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to support research objectives
- Develop and implement analytic approaches tailored to specific research projects
- Interpret analytical results and communicate findings clearly through reports, presentations, and discussions
- Collaborate with investigators to understand project goals and refine analytic strategies accordingly
- Ensure all analyses comply with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Support the preparation of research publications, grant applications, and other scholarly activities
- Stay updated on emerging analytical techniques and software tools to enhance research capabilities
