About The Role
The Data Analyst (II) plays a vital role in supporting Trinity Health’s strategic initiatives by providing advanced business intelligence and data analytics. This position involves developing and maintaining complex data models, conducting statistical analyses, and creating insightful reports and dashboards to inform decision-making at various organizational levels. The Data Analyst (II) collaborates with cross-functional teams, including clinical leaders, finance, supply chain, and information services, to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and operational efficiencies. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication to translate complex data into actionable insights that align with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Health Science, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Three to five (3-5) years of relevant operational, healthcare, or clinical data analytics experience
- Proficiency in statistical or analytical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, etc.
- Experience with relational databases and programming languages like SQL or Python
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or Business Objects
- Strong understanding of quality improvement principles, study design, and statistical modeling
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to foster collaborative partnerships across departments
Responsibilities
- Provide analytic consultation and technical support to clinical, operational, and leadership teams
- Design, develop, and maintain complex datasets from multiple data sources to support organizational initiatives
- Create and validate reports, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities
- Research measure definitions, algorithms, and statistical methods to ensure analytical accuracy and relevance
- Develop queries and manipulate large, high-dimensional datasets to extract meaningful insights
- Monitor performance metrics regularly, highlight trends, and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated ad hoc analyses aligned with organizational goals
- Support the development of presentations, publications, and web content to communicate analytical findings effectively
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal teams through high-quality analysis and clear communication
- Guide and mentor Level I Data Analysts and collaborate with senior analysts on complex projects
- Partner with IT and data management teams to support data infrastructure, clinical databases, and vendor systems
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies, reflecting ethical and professional standards
