About the role
This position compiles, analyzes mortgage data, prepares reports, arranges new data sources, creates presentations and dashboards, interprets data, and develops automation projects and low-code applications to drive actionable insights and innovation for the Mortgage line-of-business.
Responsibilities
- Create, run, modify, and produce accurate standard and ad-hoc queries and reports to support Mortgage business information needs.
- Analyze internal and external mortgage and economic data to provide up-to-date trends and forecasting for data-driven decisions.
- Develop dashboards, meaningful graphic visualizations, executive-level presentations, and reports to deliver actionable insights to mortgage stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of data and analytic trends and best practices for long-term Mortgage data solutions.
- Develop 2-3 automation projects per year using Python/SQL or low-code/no-code tools.
- Complete monthly Fair Lending incentive studies and deliver to key management stakeholders.
- Maintain Mortgage analytics and automation infrastructure through error tracking and application lifecycle management frameworks.
- Perform regular audits of Mortgage databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Real Estate, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of data analytics experience or demonstrated aptitude for analytics.
- Ability to write SQL queries.
- Knowledge of the banking industry; prior experience with Trustmark data and organizational structure preferred.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Proven experience applying attention to detail with strong critical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUPs.
- Data Analytics or related certification preferred.
- Experience with dashboard software including Power BI, Tableau, etc., preferred.
- Ability to write Python scripts preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Azure, Power Automate, Power Apps preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation, while viewing computer screens.
