Dart Refrigeration Installer Helper

About the role

Assist in the installation of new or used refrigeration equipment in commercial locations. Work alongside a lead installer to weld, assemble, and connect refrigeration systems, electrical services, and utilities according to schematics and floor plans. Help verify system operation, make adjustments, and maintain safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the goal of maintaining a stellar safety record; use gloves, safety goggles, and other PPE.
• Work with the installer/technician to communicate installation timing, location, and methods with management, customers, and other technicians.
• Assist in fabricating and installing equipment per drawings and specifications.
• Help read schematics, drawings, installation manuals, and operation manuals to ensure proper equipment installation.
• Support the installer/technician in connecting systems to electrical, control, fuel, water, ducts, air lines, and other utilities.
• Assist in testing installed systems for proper operation and making necessary adjustments to electrical, control, and mechanical systems.
• Support mechanical overhauls, refrigerant reclaiming, and recording refrigerant use.
• Help remove and discard prior systems in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Assist in ordering, picking up, delivering, and installing materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mechanical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (zero traffic tickets and accidents).
• Working knowledge of shop equipment, hand tools, and all electrical phases and voltage.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to travel to retailer work locations and company site as needed.
