Dallas Apartment Locator
About the role
Smart City is a human-centered apartment locating service that saves renters time and money when searching for a new place to live. We're on a mission to help people find a space to be themselves, both in an apartment and a place to work. We have more leads than we know what to do with, so we're eager to hire empathetic, compassionate, and intuitive individuals who are social, outgoing, self-driven, goal-oriented, and ready to learn. Ideal candidates are multitasking geniuses who thrive on moving quickly, are highly accessible, and excel at follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Manage the client relationship from lead to lease
- Chat with clients via text, phone, and email
- Create hyper-personalized lists of available apartment units
- Work directly with property partners, schedule and attend tours
- Earn commissions for leasing clients
How it works
Our marketing and customer experience teams generate qualified leads (clients). You’ll tour apartments across the city, get to know clients’ needs, and connect them with the best places. The client pays rent, the apartment complex pays Smart City, and Smart City pays you—win-win-win!
Requirements
- Complete Texas Real Estate License coursework within 6 weeks of hire (we’ll guide you through the process)
- Local travel around the city to tour with clients
- Own a laptop (MacBook highly encouraged for efficiency) and iPhone (required for our custom CRM)
- Be shockingly accessible to clients, often on short notice
Pay
This role is commission-based, paid from real estate commissions for each leased client. Full-time effort (10–14 leased clients/month) typically earns $60K–80K+ annually, with top performers making $100K+.
Benefits
- Company-generated leads (no cold calling—clients come to us)
- Pipeline to residential real estate (build a client base for future home sales)
- Flexible schedule built around client needs (autonomy over time off)
- Advanced Pay Program: Receive 30% of commission upfront (60–90 days sooner than industry standard)
- Increasing commission percentages with tenure
- Promotion opportunities (90% of leadership started as agents)
