Dairy Products Producer
About the Role
To inspect, weigh, measure, package, seal and process cheese for retail following the cheese aging protocol. Using knives, scissors, sealers, cheese cutters, scales, and vacuum sealers. Examine and inspect cheese and packaging materials to ensure packing and quality specifications are met. Maintain consistency, cleanliness, and quality within the work area and surroundings by following all food sanitation practices and using cleaning materials provided. Record and inventory product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records, including record keeping of samples, temperatures, dates, and data as required.
Responsibilities
- Follow cheese aging protocol.
- Measure and weigh product to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Slice, cut, and package cheese.
- Load products into package processing and sealing equipment.
- Inspect product after sealing for air bubbles or improper packaging results.
- Properly label, weigh, and stow product into boxes to ensure consistency in size and shape per specifications.
- Clean containers, utensils, and work area using cleaning solutions and hand tools provided.
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize walls, tables, and work areas as needed or mandated.
- Maintain work area, coolers, and dry storage clean and organized.
- Perform receiving, examination, distribution, and storing of products or supplies as needed following established procedures.
- Monitor product rotation by checking make dates, vat dates, package dates, and best-by dates as applicable.
- Follow all food handling guidelines and procedures.
- Complete checklists and charts as required.
- Complete temperature and cleaning logs.
- Maintain good record keeping.
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Assemble orders using appropriate BOL’s with consistency and accuracy.
- Report any product shortages immediately to the Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Obey all safety rules as required and posted in the manufacturing facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for self-protection, customers, co-workers, and businesses.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and conclusions to a problem.
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform a job.
- The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, repetitive movements, and handling of materials.
- The ability to lift more than 50 lbs at once.
- The ability to multitask and complete tasks assigned in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to communicate and coordinate well with others by displaying respect to customers and co-workers.
- Standing for more than 8 hours.
- Must have flexible hours and be able to work weekends.
- Honest, reliable, responsible, and dependable.
- Develop a practical working environment along with self-guiding with little or no supervision.
- Must be detail-oriented.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- 2 years of previous work-related experience.
- Food Service Certification.
