Dairy Manager

Overview

The Dairy Manager oversees the Dairy Department in one of Sprouts Farmers Market's most visited stores. This role involves managing sales and profits, directing clerks, ensuring product quality, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Give direction to clerks in the Dairy Department, ensuring presentation and sanitation standards are met.
• Process and stock products according to Sprouts dairy standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Control inventory to recommended stock levels, using proper ordering techniques to maximize sales and minimize stock loss.
• Remove out-of-code items and ensure proper product rotation to control freshness.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions, making recommendations for merit increases.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns, taking and documenting corrective actions as needed.
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Ability to perform general housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing the work area.
• Knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Standing for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Vertically transferring trays up to 5 lbs., from 7” to 64” for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5” to 36”, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achievement of a Food Handlers permit.
