ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and sanitize processing equipment, production areas, and surfaces according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform daily duties such as mopping, scrubbing, and drying equipment and facilities, navigating around machine belts, chains, conveyors, and other systems as needed.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, ensuring proper sanitation.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents safely and apply them effectively.
- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and functionality, reporting issues for timely repair.
- Manage waste disposal following company policies and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate sanitation records and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Work in the Sanitation/Clean-up Department to nightly sanitation of the entire plant, with primary focus being the cleaning and sanitizing of all machines, equipment, and surfaces.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management. Bilingual skills preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud.
