Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 1:30pm - 9:30pm
Responsibilities
- Work closely and communicate with production teams to ensure proper water treatment operation.
- Take a weekly inventory of chemicals used to operate the DAF.
- Communicate with vendors to order chemicals as needed.
- Perform necessary and preventative maintenance on the wastewater system.
- Maintain and clean the wastewater system and surrounding environment to preserve its integrity.
- Monitor water treatment processes and inspect equipment regularly.
- Perform routine sampling of effluent water to ensure permit compliance.
- Monitor and maintain daily flow readings.
- Work with outside vendors to schedule and maintain consistent DAF sludge disposal.
- Start and stop the process and equipment safely and without supervision.
- Interact with the HMI to control chemical dosing, operate equipment, and respond to alarms.
- Perform jar tests, as needed, to determine proper chemical dosing.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues as needed.
- Safely handle and store chemicals.
- Complete daily checklists for tasks pertaining to cleanliness and reliability of the wastewater unit.
- Complete weekly Tank 4-9 DMAPA scrubber sampling, dropping, and recharging the scrubber.
- Complete weekly pH calibration.
- Complete daily shift reports documenting critical events, totalizer readings, and sample results.
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure washes are dropped to the proper tanks.
- Perform plant walkthroughs to ensure sumps are in good condition.
- Work with the EHS department as needed for regulatory/sampling compliance.
- Coordinate with third parties as needed during sampling weeks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years’ experience preferably in production/process area of specialty chemical products or wastewater processing.
- Wastewater Certification strongly preferred.
- DOT training preferred.
- RCRA training preferred.
- Plant Operation knowledge.
- Experience operating pumps, agitators, pH probes, valves, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting process equipment including pumps and instruments.
Skills
- Excellent understanding of pH and what affects it.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Physical Requirements
- Located partially in an outdoor production environment and partially in an indoor production environment; appropriate PPE required for each setting.
- Must be able to effectively move between the wastewater unit and QC laboratory to deliver samples.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Exposure to various chemicals and compounds.
- Operate a forklift.
- Ability to work weekends and respond to call-ins on off days as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds; squatting and kneeling required.
