About the role

The Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX Solution Architect is responsible for consulting on Dynamics 365 ERP engagements including: implementation, upgrade, and/or extension of existing applications. The Solution Architect oversees and executes on the Solution scope of Dynamics 365 F&O, assisting clients in the implementation and support of Dynamics 365 F&O. They will be involved in improving operational metrics, business case development, and performance measurement. This role requires up to 50% travel.

The Solution Architect should have business functional experience to support analysis at a business process level, comprehension of business terminology, and knowledge of best practices to effectively translate requirements. They must also have practical experience in other process areas of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX to configure and implement cohesive solutions that best fit customer needs and support the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Satisfaction – 35%
    • Work closely with the MCA Connect team (Production/Manufacturing Consultant, Finance/Accounting Consultant, and Supply Chain Consultant) to ensure the implementation meets customer expectations.
    • Provide cross-functional knowledge and guidance on the configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/ERP.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of quality results.
    • Communicate with the Leadership Team, displaying confidence and experience to be recognized as a trusted advisor.
    • Promote and encourage change and change management methods to support customer acceptance and system adoption.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills to respond to Senior Management concerns and key decisions affecting the project.
    • Escalate and communicate risks, challenges, and pros/cons to support overall project solutions.
    • Prioritize and maintain focus on the customer’s visionary goals.
  • Successful implementation of practical business solutions using industry best practices – 30%
    • Facilitate the implementation and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/ERP.
    • Lead the transition from strategic business transformation decisions to successful delivery through project execution phases.
    • Define functional requirements and document solution designs; manage and oversee detailed design/requirements meetings to understand clients’ business requirements and conduct gap analysis.
    • Ensure the quality of design, configuration, and testing of core Dynamics 365 ERP modules.
    • Review design requirements prepared by the functional team and deliver recommended changes with adherence to methodology.
    • Specify and convey requirements for custom code, integrations, and custom reports to the development team and test completed solutions.
    • Communicate with client senior leadership to facilitate key business decisions.
    • Actively participate as the “Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX Expert” in the Executive Steering Committee.
    • Facilitate cross-practice coordination and encourage collaboration, brainstorming, and active learning.
    • Support the technical lead regarding questions on customizations, estimates, and timelines.
  • Project team support and management – 30%
    • Ensure the project and project team members follow MCA Connect methodology standards, including conformance to Statements of Work (SOW).
    • Partner with the technical lead to create and execute the final system cutover plan for Go Live.
    • Work with the Project Manager and technical lead to define an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) plan for transitioning from project implementation to post-Go Live maintenance.
    • Manage and provide senior support for generating user documentation.
    • Manage and provide senior support for training end users and system administrators.
    • Provide business technical support and guidance to empower the functional team to build and own the solution.
    • Assist the functional team and customer with data migration plans, reconciliation plans, and data clean-up recommendations.
    • Assist the customer with LCS initial setup.
    • Create Azure DevOps test plans by assisting the customer with CRP/UAT test cases, linking to user stories, and ensuring completion and sign-off.
    • Support and monitor pass/fail CRP/UAT issue resolution, risk escalations, acceptance, and mitigation planning.
    • Mentor the team to support knowledge transfer, project success, and continued career growth.
    • Provide specific scoping documentation to the Project Manager for generating subsequent Statements of Work (SOWs).
    • Share responsibility with the Project Manager for creating periodic status reports for project team members and the executive leadership team (ELT).
    • Share responsibility with the technical lead and Project Manager for tracking customizations, deliverables, and timeliness of completion.
    • Oversee debugging and finding code issues, supporting the technical lead and functional team.
    • Attend Microsoft FastTrack meetings, provide required documentation and/or training (Go Live checklist), and comply with Microsoft FastTrack policies.
    • Manage ISV decisions, design, and collaboration with the functional team.
    • Design, review, and ensure awareness of all integration plans.
    • Monitor and coordinate Microsoft version updates.
    • Train, schedule, and guide the customer to own release and pause schedules.
    • Monitor the completeness of the project, milestone activities, and sign-off tasks.
    • Promote continuous learning, D365 feature enhancement review, and deployment.
  • MCA representation and Communication – 5%
    • Create and deliver content for internal and external training, communication, and marketing.
    • Represent MCA Connect at promotional and educational events.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX experience as an implementation functional lead.
  • Minimum of 4 full lifecycle (Analysis through Deployment) Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX Distribution WMS implementations.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry and/or consulting experience.
  • Certification in Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX Supply Chain/Production/Finance, or attainment of certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Strong industry experience within Manufacturing and/or Distribution.
  • Working knowledge of industry-specific best practices.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in at least one other Dynamics 365 F&O/Dynamics AX module, or attainment of certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • AX 2012 experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Master Certification.
  • Microsoft Sure Step Certification.
  • Experience with other Dynamics 365 ERP/Dynamics AX Modules.
  • Experience with frequently used ISVs: Dynaway Blue, ATOS, Seeburger, SKGlobal, CCH, credit card processors, ExpertLogic.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.

Pay

$120,000 - $170,000 a year plus additional uncapped supplemental compensation (bonus).
