Auditing

  • Utilizes microscopic technique to screen glass slides.
  • Records findings accurately in the medical record.
  • Identifies and appropriately marks cellular abnormalities.
  • Collaborates with pathologists for accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • Assists with fine needle aspiration collection and evaluation.
  • Correlates cytologic findings with subsequent biopsies.
  • Processes gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens.
  • Produces high-quality stained slides.
  • Maintains proficiency testing as required.
  • Affirms workload recording accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintains adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Teaches, trains, and mentors interns and trainees.
  • Assists in developing departmental budget, policies, procedures, and goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology.
  • Cytotechnologist (CT) - ASCP Registry eligible (must pass within six months of hire).
