Cytotechnologist

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare specimens for technical and diagnostic procedures.
• Work with stains, mounts and labels slides and matches them exactly with corresponding requisition forms.
• Process all non-gyn specimens so that maximum cellular component is deposited on glass slides.
• Assist physicians in obtaining and evaluating sample collection procedures done at patient bedside.
• Perform slide interpretation.
• Prepare and maintain reagents necessary to carry out duties.
• Answer telephones for department, relay results and other information related to test procedures.

Requirements

• Associate degree with science/biology and one year in approved program of training/experience or equivalent.
• Meet CLIA requirement for Cytotechnologist.

Pay

Salary range: $39.31 – $62.90 per hour. Competitive base rates determined by job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials. The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
