Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate cytology specimens to ensure positive sample identification and appropriateness.
- Process gynecological, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspirations slides for diagnostic evaluation by cytopathology technologists and pathologists.
- Utilize the pathology computer system to provide accurate information for testing, tracking, and reporting.
- Receive specimens or slides, assess acceptability, and accession cytopathology cases into the pathology information system.
- Process gynecological and non-gynecological specimens and fine needle aspirations slides for diagnostic evaluation by the cytotechnologists and pathologists.
- Maintain appropriate department supply inventory.
- Sort vials for testing sent to reference labs.
- Recognize, document, and resolve specimen identification errors.
- Store specimens appropriately.
- Operate and maintain department equipment as required.
- Prepare cell blocks for Histology.
- File and retrieve slides and requisitions.
Requirements
A high school diploma is required, along with 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.

Pay
$20.00 - 25.00 per hour, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
Schedule
Part-time position, 20 hours per week, 3 days per week, 8:00am - 4:30pm, no weekends.
