Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and facilitate production.
Schedule
Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Pay
Pay range: $24.07 - $31.89 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, market factors, and organizational considerations. Eligible candidates may receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities
- Log, track, accession, and troubleshoot specimens received into the facility
- Use a computer imaging system to karyotype metaphases
- Perform routine instrument maintenance on equipment
- Monitor inventory
- Document all information pertinent to work assignments, including QA incidents
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition
- Communicate regularly with supervisor and manager regarding issues, concerns, and department needs
- Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate
- Adhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, Quality, and laboratory safety requirements
- Use personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and work practice controls as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- One (1) year of previous experience in a laboratory or related field (required)
- Two (2) years of previous experience in a laboratory or related field (preferred)
- Associate’s degree (required) or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Lifting and carrying objects:
- 1 to 10 pounds: frequently
- 11 to 25 pounds: occasionally
- 36 to 50 pounds: seldom, with assistance
- Over 50 pounds: not to be lifted or carried without assistance
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods
- Frequent walking and/or standing
- Use of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments requiring significant manual dexterity
Skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and establish work priorities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously for maximum efficiency
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to handle client information confidentially
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems
