Cytogenetics Analyst (FISH) - US Remote

About the role
Labcorp is seeking a remote Cytogenetics (FISH) Analyst to join our team based in Brentwood, TN. This fully analysis-based position focuses on onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work, using digital platforms such as Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI). There is no wet lab or bench work required.
Responsibilities
- Perform FISH analysis, including analysis and imaging of digitized images
- Conduct cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
- Review cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents
- Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
- Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
- Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and applications to ensure proper functionality
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
- Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
- Report any problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the general supervisor on protocol and policy development and review
- Provide feedback to senior technologists on technical matters
- Understand and comply with company policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe work environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
- 1 year or more experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years or more experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
Additional Job Standards
- In lieu of the education requirements listed, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be accepted
Work From Home Requirements
- Must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with others, and meets HIPAA compliance
- Agree to have your home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report (CMS requirement)
- Wired internet with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required
- Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with competing priorities
Schedule
Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Pay
$25–$45/hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible only for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
