This is an on-site position located in Streetsboro, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Cycle Count Execution
- Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts in accordance with the facility's cycle counting program and assigned priorities.
- Physically count raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods as assigned.
- Verify item numbers, quantities, units of measure, labels, and storage locations during each count.
- Follow established count procedures and maintain accuracy without disrupting production or warehouse flow.
- Support wall-to-wall physical inventories, annual inventory audits, and other inventory verification activities.
- Complete assigned count work within established timelines while prioritizing accuracy over speed.
- Discrepancy Investigation & Resolution
- Compare physical inventory to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central records and identify shortages, overages, and location discrepancies.
- Investigate variances by reviewing locations, labels, recent material movement, and available transaction history.
- Identify potential root causes such as incorrect transactions, misplaced material, labeling errors, duplicate locations, or process breakdowns.
- Recount and validate findings before reporting a discrepancy.
- Document findings and communicate inventory issues requiring adjustment, escalation, or further investigation to the PMDA.
- Support corrective actions and follow-up counts intended to prevent recurring inventory issues.
- Inventory Location & Organization
- Verify that inventory is stored in the correct location and is properly identified and labeled.
- Identify incorrect, duplicate, obsolete, or unauthorized inventory locations.
- Help maintain inventory locations that are accurate, organized, easy to find, and easy to pick.
- Follow FIFO practices where applicable and report material that appears aged, damaged, or improperly stored.
- Communicate housekeeping, labeling, location, or storage concerns to the appropriate operational team.
- ERP & Documentation
- Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to review inventory information, assigned count activity, item history, and location data.
- Use handheld scanners, computers, and other inventory tools accurately and consistently.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all completed cycle counts and investigations.
- Follow established inventory adjustment workflows and provide supporting documentation for requested corrections.
- Protect the integrity and confidentiality of inventory records and company information.
- Cross-Functional Support & Continuous Improvement
- Communicate inventory concerns promptly and professionally to Production, Receiving, Shipping, Purchasing, Materials, and the PMDA.
- Assist operational teams in locating materials and resolving inventory-related questions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities that strengthen inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, labeling, and warehouse organization.
- Participate in inventory cleanup, location validation, ERP data cleanup, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow standard work and provide practical feedback when procedures do not reflect actual operating conditions.
- Safety & General Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, material-handling practices, and facility procedures.
- Escalate unsafe conditions, damaged material, or other risks identified during count activity.
- Perform additional inventory-related duties and support other facilities or operational areas as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical/wiring preferred.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort using handheld scanners, computers, and standard workplace technology.
- Ability to prioritize assigned work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Materials, Production, Receiving, Shipping, Purchasing, and other operational teams.
Preferred Skills
- Previous warehouse, inventory control, cycle counting, materials, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience investigating inventory discrepancies or supporting physical inventories.
- Familiarity with FIFO practices, warehouse location systems, and inventory labeling standards.
