Leidos has an opportunity for a Cybersecurity Product Engineer in our INTEL Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Our team specializes in Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods and Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management.

About the role

Join a diverse, highly skilled team developing unique solutions for Cyber, EW, and PNT threats against weapon systems and technologies on the tactical edge. Our products alert a wide array of customers to potential attacks by creative, highly skilled adversaries, often represented by our own Red Teamers. This full-time position is with the Leidos Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) team, based in Huntsville, Alabama, and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Create procedures and techniques for ongoing usage of a cyber operations platform within a customer-designated environment.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate open-source cyber tools into a cyber operations platform.
  • Develop new algorithms used in IDS/IPS systems to detect malicious behavior.
  • Develop graphical cyber dashboards and tools to enhance understanding of cyber activities being monitored.
  • Develop custom installers to provide tactical edge systems with minimal potential for failure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-8 years of professional development experience in various programming languages (ability to demonstrate through GitHub, code samples, or provided media).
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to write software and scripts in languages such as Python, BASH, C++, HTML, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with dissection of network protocols using Wireshark and other tools.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as Vagrant, Docker, Podman, VirtualBox, and Kubernetes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) for cybersecurity solutions.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Make, and Jira.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts and agile software development.
  • Ability to work independently to deliver software in a timely manner.

Pay

Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
