Cybersecurity Operations Analyst
About the role
The Cybersecurity Operations Analyst will support cybersecurity operations efforts at the Department of War (DoW), conducting DISA STIG/SRG and ACAS assessments, performing daily monitoring of SIEM logs, threat detection systems, and GovCloud security tooling, analyzing threats and vulnerability disclosures, triaging and escalating security alerts, developing cybersecurity reporting, and supporting continuous improvement of cybersecurity monitoring and reporting workflows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct recurring DISA STIG and SRG assessments and support ACAS scanning activities to identify, document, and track system vulnerabilities
- Perform daily monitoring and analysis of SIEM logs, threat detection platforms, and GovCloud security tooling to identify anomalous or malicious activity
- Triage, analyze, and escalate security alerts in accordance with established cybersecurity operations and incident response procedures
- Analyze threat intelligence, vulnerability disclosures, and VDP inputs to assess potential impact and support timely risk mitigation
- Document assessment results, findings, and remediation recommendations to support audit readiness and operational transparency
- Develop and deliver routine cybersecurity operations reporting to support situational awareness and leadership decision-making
- Support continuous improvement of cybersecurity monitoring, reporting, and vulnerability management workflows
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity operations align with federal agency requirements and security standards
Requirements
- Active and maintained "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience supporting cybersecurity operations, SOC, or incident response functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- CISSP certification
- Experience with threat detection tools, and vulnerability management solutions
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs)
- Experience producing technical and executive-level cybersecurity reporting
- Ability to work in fast-paced, operational security environments supporting government clients
Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar certifications
- Experience supporting Defense, Intelligence, or federal agencies
- Exposure to cloud security tooling and GovCloud environments
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery models
