Cybersecurity Analyst/Advisor

About the role

A cybersecurity analyst/advisor is needed to audit and assist with system configuration clean up, especially service accounts in MS systems. The position will involve helping with policy updates and reconciliation, building an audit schedule, performing data analysis, participating in third-party security assessments, and more.

Responsibilities

• Audit and assist with system configuration clean up, especially service accounts in MS systems
• Help with policy updates and reconciliation
• Build audit schedule and perform data analysis
• Participate in third-party security assessments
• Propose changes and design a plan to safely make those changes
• Coordinate with team members to implement approved changes
• Make changes once approved
• Ensure compliance with best practices and policies
• Work with third-party tools such as FortiEDR, FortiSIEM, and Fortinet firewalls
• Conduct thorough research and analysis
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Requirements

• Strong experience in finding issues, especially in MS M365/AD environments (technical savvy required)
• Experience proposing changes and designing plans to safely implement those changes
• Ability to coordinate with team members to implement approved changes
• Deep knowledge of best practices and policies
• Experience with NIST and CIS CSAT
• Familiarity with FortiEDR, FortiSIEM, and Fortinet firewalls
• Excellent research and analysis skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work directly for any U.S. employer without working through a third party/sponsor
• Lived in or near Northern Chicago area
