Cyber Underwriter (San Francisco or LA)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complex cyber risks, determine appropriate pricing, retentions, and coverage terms
• Contribute to underwriting strategy
• Enhance underwriting guidelines and procedures
• Identify new business opportunities
• Represent Safety National as a trusted cyber insurance expert

Requirements

• Presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
• Ability to analyze complex Cyber risks and evaluate exposures, security controls, financial information, and loss history.
• Experience underwriting both new and renewal business while determining pricing, retention levels, limits, and terms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively negotiate with brokers, insureds, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with brokers, clients, and cross-functional business partners.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with sound business acumen.
• Ability to work collaboratively across underwriting, claims, legal, account services, and business development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent insurance underwriting experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Ability to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and technology assets against unauthorized disclosure, destruction and/or alteration, in accordance with Safety National policies, standards, and procedures.

Pay

The target base salary range for this position is $89,700 to $150,600. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
