Cyber Targeting Officer

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled targeting officer with at least three years of cyber experience to support a client’s operational requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The selected candidates will oversee sophisticated targeting efforts, drive operational initiatives, and work with various teams to achieve mission objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of data analytics, digital networks, targeting concepts, and experience with IC tools and systems. Candidates will be expected to effectively interact with customer personnel at all levels within the customer organization. The positions require prior experience in supporting customer operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives. Successful candidates will have strong investigative skills, be a self-starter, identify issues and offer solutions, and can collaborate and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive and prescriptive analytics on raw data to find hidden patterns, draw conclusions, and use those conclusions to make better decisions.
• Collect, clean, and organize raw data to support targeting efforts.
• Conduct independent analysis on a variety of data sets to find elements of interest, including computing and mobile devices, network activity, or individuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in areas such as Cybersecurity, Computer Network Forensics, Network Administration, Computer Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or large-scale data analysis.
• At least three (3) years of experience performing work related to the position and an understanding of digital networks, including OSI model, network diagrams and architecture, network security and management products, web services, and layer 3/layer 2 configuration files.
• Experience with internet applications and protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, SQL, Hadoop, or other DBMS.
• An active clearance with Polygraph; there is no exception to the clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated strong investigative skills.
• An understanding of scripting languages such as Python.
• Certifications to include CISSP, GIAC GPEN, CEH, OSCP, CNDA, and Sec+ are desired.

Preferred Skills

• Network traffic analysis experience using Wireshark, Suricata, and nDPI, to baseline standard activity and identify anomalies.
• Experience, an understanding or interest in business, cryptocurrency, finance, and/or related fields.
• The ability or interest in leveraging new technologies, including FINTECH.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $130,355 – $221,603. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
