Cyber Systems Engineer Technical Specialist

About the role

The program provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) core and non-core support in the areas of Cyber Security and Management to improve the Information Assurance (IA) posture of a National customer. The contract's Core Capabilities are: IA Management, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) coordination and reporting, Risk Management Framework (RMF) application, IA compliance measurements and metrics, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Defense support.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess and produce Technical reports on CDRL items delivered by the Cyber Security Services contractors.
• Provide assessments to the customer on the cybersecurity contractor’s program performance.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver acquisition artifacts to assist the customer in assessing contractor’s performance.
• Assist in the development of execution reviews, acquisition roadmaps and transition plans.
• Develop briefings and artifacts for acquisition Readiness Reviews.
• Provide technical recaps of customer meetings with cyber security contractors.
• Work closely with the customer Lead and stakeholders to execute contracts.
• Provide technical input for the development of acquisition documentation for review and approval by the customer.
• Assess contractor performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
• Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements.
• Assist in the development of technical requirements.
• Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials.
• Analyze policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps.
• Develop strategies to comply with privacy and risk management requirements.

Qualifications

• 10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
• Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM.
• Experience supporting project management and acquisitions.
• Experience with customer’s Cybersecurity Processes and tools/capabilities.
• Experience in requirements analysis.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Hands-on working knowledge of Excel and other database applications.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Skills

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced IA certification (i.e. CISSP or CASP).
• Experience briefing senior customer personnel.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast pace deadline driven environment.
• Familiarity with the RMF process.
• Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft tools; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $133,901.35 - $232,828.46 per year.
