Cyber Systems Engineer
About the role
We're hiring a software engineer to build the systems behind our edge sensing and secure-communications products. You'll spend most of your time writing production code, designing services and data pipelines, researching new technologies, and making distributed software run reliably on constrained Linux devices in the real world. This is a builder's role. You'll own technical problems end to end—from rough requirements to shipped, tested, deployable code—and work closely with engineers who live at the intersection of software, networking, and wireless.
Responsibilities
- Write production Rust for real-time data ingestion, processing, and device control
- Design and build modular services and APIs that span edge devices and backend infrastructure
- Build data pipelines that feed analysis and automation
- Integrate your software with network stacks, wireless tooling, and external data sources
- Implement automation frameworks—rule-based workflows, triggers, and orchestration
- Deploy and tune software on resource-constrained Linux systems, and debug system-level, networking, and performance issues when they surface
- Prototype quickly and iterate as requirements evolve
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and field teams to make the whole system work as one
Requirements
- Proficiency in Rust, Python, and Bash
- Experience building backend, systems, or distributed software
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, sockets, packet-level behavior)
- Real fluency in Linux—services, processes, debugging, and performance tuning
- Ability to work independently and deliver from loosely defined requirements
Qualifications
- Familiarity with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, BLE, cellular, SDR)
- Experience with edge or embedded systems (e.g., ARM, Jetson, Raspberry Pi)
- Working knowledge of C# and/or JavaScript
- Exposure to security-focused engineering, red teaming, or penetration testing
