Cyber Systems Engineer
About the role
This position is available on behalf of our client and requires a DoD SECRET security clearance. The role involves helping automate the process for hardening, testing, verification, and documentation of systems, as well as supporting any issues arising from the fielded training systems at Eglin AFB.
Responsibilities
- Helping automate the process for hardening, testing, verification, and documentation of systems.
- Patching of the systems – they use WSUS and Ivanti.
- Supporting any issues that may arise from the fielded training systems at Eglin AFB.
Requirements
- Linux (open to different versions).
- Windows Patching – WSUS and Ivanti.
- Secret Clearance minimum (interim acceptable).
Qualifications
- DoD SECRET security clearance, and ability to maintain the security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.
- 5+ years of technical systems engineering experience with DoD systems.
- A desire to learn, grow, and share knowledge in the cybersecurity domain.
- DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAT Level II (IE CompTIA Security+, GSEC SSCP, CCNA-Security) or ability to achieve certification within 6 months.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, be well organized, flexible, and self-motivated.
- Ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams (Systems Engineers, Software Developers, System Administrators, and Information Systems Security Managers).

Pay
$50-70/hr. W2
Schedule
12-24 months, with high potential to extend and/or convert to full-time.
