Cyber Security Architect
About the Role
We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Architect to lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative Cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. You’ll coordinate with a dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate customer IT needs and future goals into secure, effective solutions. This role involves investigating new techniques, breaking free from legacy models, and leading the team through a critical approach to network design while balancing security and mission needs. Your work will directly impact the security of the U.S. Government, addressing challenges in IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of Cybersecurity solutions for federal networks.
- Collaborate with thought leaders and experts to develop secure, effective IT solutions aligned with customer needs and future goals.
- Investigate and implement new techniques to harden systems and reduce attack surfaces.
- Provide alternatives and customize solutions to maintain a balance between security and mission requirements.
- Guide senior leaders (CISO, CIO, CTO) in ideating, building, and executing cybersecurity capability maturation.
- Work with project and proposal teams to incorporate Cybersecurity solutions into high-quality implementation plans and roadmaps.
- Author technical documentation, whitepapers, and blogs on leading Cybersecurity topics and concepts.
- Lead Cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT, Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with Cybersecurity.
- 5+ years of experience leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations.
- 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design.
- Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project and proposal teams to develop implementation plans and roadmaps.
- Secret clearance (required).
- HS diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role.
- Experience selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations.
- Experience with innovative Cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Information Security Certification (e.g., CEH, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+).

Pay
Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
