Cyber Security Architect

Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to a system architecture, but you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. What if you could use your cyber engineering skills to design and build secure systems for the U.S. Government? We’re looking for an architect who can create solutions that will stand up to even the most advanced cyber threats.

About the role

As a Cybersecurity Architect on our project, you’ll lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative Cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. You’ll coordinate with a dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solution, so you’ll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You’ll lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design efforts for Cybersecurity solutions and service offerings
• Collaborate with a team of experts to translate customer IT needs and future goals into secure, effective solutions
• Investigate new techniques and industry trends to enhance security architectures
• Provide alternatives and customize solutions to balance security and mission needs
• Work with senior leaders (CISO, CIO, CTO, executives) to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation
• Collaborate with project and proposal teams to incorporate Cybersecurity solutions and develop high-quality implementation plans and roadmaps
• Author technical documentation, whitepapers, and blogs on leading Cybersecurity topics and concepts
• Lead Cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT, Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with Cybersecurity
• 5+ years of experience with leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations
• 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design
• Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project and proposal teams
• Secret clearance (required)
• HS diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Experience in a Cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role
• Experience with selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations
• Experience with innovative Cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• TS/SCI clearance (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Information Security Certification, including CEH, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred)

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:

• Remote: Generally virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential customer site visits as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
