About the role
This senior management position is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities, focusing on tech risk remediation and cybersecurity vulnerabilities in Wealth Tech.
Responsibilities
- Domain Strategy & Governance: Craft and execute domain-specific strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with business goals and regulatory expectations. Establish governance structures, policies, and standards for the domain.
- Tech Risk & Cybersecurity: Lead tech risk remediation and manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities across the domain. Oversee technology solutions from design to implementation, including third-party reviews and vulnerability assessments.
- Process & Automation Excellence: Drive process optimization and automation to improve efficiency and mitigate cybersecurity risk. Implement best practices and control frameworks for the application lifecycle.
- Stakeholder & Solution Management: Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and regulators to manage expectations and deliver technology programs. Work with teams to provide solutions and conduct reviews with different parties.
- Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Assess and manage domain-specific risk, ensuring robust controls and regulatory compliance. Apply risk mitigation approaches for technology risk and manage the audit cycle.
- Innovation and Technology Adoption: Identify innovation and digital transformation opportunities to drive business growth. Manage technology batch upgrades and security protocols aligned with cybersecurity standards and modern tech stacks.
- Performance Reporting & Governance: Track KPIs, report to senior management, and drive continuous improvement. Develop dashboards and metrics, and ensure compliance reporting for audit and risk management.
- Life Cycle & Security Management: Manage security vulnerabilities, breaches, and third-party risk. Oversee all development phases (analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation) and provide operational support for business applications.
- Team Development & Collaboration: Build and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams. Foster collaboration between tech, business, and support functions to align domain objectives.
- Vendor & Third-Party Management: Manage vendor relationships and third-party risks, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
- Cost Optimization & Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource efficiency within the domain, balancing risk and performance goals.
- Change Management & Adoption: Drive change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies or processes within the domain.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Experience as an Applications Development Manager or in a senior-level Applications Development role.
- Deep understanding of programming languages (Java, Python), databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MongoDB), and software design principles.
- Stakeholder and people management experience with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and proven project management skills.
- Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Pay
Full-time salary range: $176,720.00 - $265,080.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
